Quick guides for daily life in Cancún

During a water outage

When Aguakan announces an outage or low pressure, store water the night before in clean, covered containers, prioritize drinking and hygiene, and avoid running the washing machine or watering. If service doesn't return on time, report it with your address and account number.

During a power outage

During a CFE interruption, unplug sensitive devices to protect them when power returns and leave one lamp on as a signal. Report the fault through CFE's app or phone line with your address; in the hot season restoration can take longer.

Hurricane season

The Caribbean hurricane season runs June to November. Keep an emergency kit ready with water, food, documents and a flashlight; identify the nearest shelter and follow only Quintana Roo Civil Protection and the National Weather Service.

Saving on gas

Prices vary between stations and neighborhoods. Compare at least two nearby stations with PROFECO's tool, make sure the pump reads zero before filling, and consider filling up early to avoid lines.
