Autocar, the operator of Cancún's MOBI transit system, has an open recruitment drive for up to 200 drivers to staff the new units joining the service starting in September. The process runs through August 31, and this week offers another in-person chance to apply.

The next job-matching event, under the "Ven y Empléate" (Come and Get Hired) program, will be held Monday, August 24, at El Crucero park, where applicants can show up directly to get information and register. It is the third such session this month, after those held on August 12 at the Employment Office and on August 19 at the Region 247 dome.

Requirements and benefits. The call is open to men and women aged 19 to 55 and requires no prior bus-driving experience: the company provides training from scratch and support to obtain the type C2 license required for the role. Positions include eight-hour shifts, benefits above the legal minimum, life insurance and a base salary above 10,000 pesos per month.

Documents to bring. Birth certificate, CURP, updated RFC, proof of address, social security number, education certificate and letters of recommendation. Bring originals and copies to speed up registration.

Why it matters. MOBI launched in Cancún in 2026 as part of the city's public-transit modernization, with new-generation units. Adding more drivers and vehicles from September aims to expand the service's coverage and frequency, which could mean shorter waits for riders who depend on the bus to reach work, school or the hotel zone. For job seekers, it is also a route into formal employment with benefits in a sector with steady demand for staff.
