SAT mobile office stays in Cancún through July 31: walk-in help for RFC, e-signature and tax status certificate

The temporary module operates along Avenida Tulum in Supermanzana 2 Norte and offers free services for individual taxpayers, including students and workers who need their RFC for the first time.

A few days remain to take advantage of the Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT) Mobile Office in Cancún, which was set up from July 20 through July 31 to bring key tax procedures closer to individual taxpayers with no need to book an appointment online.

According to the official SAT information, the module operates on Avenida Tulum, Supermanzana 2 Norte, blocks 22 and 23, inside the facilities of the Benito Juárez municipal Revenue Office in downtown Cancún.

Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Procedures available

  • Registration in the Federal Taxpayer Registry (RFC) for individuals of legal age, including students who need one for their first job or a scholarship.
  • Issuance or renewal of the e.firma (advanced electronic signature), mandatory for most online SAT procedures and for issuing invoices.
  • Printing of the Constancia de Situación Fiscal, a document increasingly required by employers to enroll workers with IMSS and update payroll.
  • Guidance for generating electronic invoices and enabling the Buzón Tributario.

What to bring

The SAT has not published a specific checklist for this mobile operation, but for RFC and e.firma procedures the agency normally requires: valid official ID (INE or passport), a certified CURP, proof of address issued within the last four months, and a new or freshly formatted USB drive (to store the e.firma files). For e.firma renewals, it helps to bring the previous password.

Why it's worth going now

Cancún's permanent SAT office, in the Bonampak district, often has waitlists of several weeks for e.firma. The mobile operation runs on a first-come, first-served basis with no appointment, though arriving at least an hour before closing time is advisable. Service is free; the SAT does not charge for these procedures and has warned against paying middlemen who claim to speed them up.

The SAT said the operation is part of a national strategy to bring tax services closer to high-demand municipalities, and that it will continue rotating to other cities in the state in the coming months.
