Transport concessionaires can now do five procedures without traveling to Chetumal
IMOVEQROO brought five procedures to its delegation offices in Benito Juárez and other municipalities to save time and travel.
Transport concessionaires in Quintana Roo will no longer have to travel all the way to Chetumal to complete five of their most common procedures. The state Mobility Institute (IMOVEQROO) brought these services to its municipal delegation offices starting in August 2026, aiming to cut time and travel costs for the sector.
According to the institute, the five procedures now available locally are: transfer of rights, transfer of rights due to death, rights certification, concession modification and beneficiary designation. "Bringing these procedures closer means making concessionaires' lives easier," said Rafael Hernández Kotasek, director of IMOVEQROO.
The procedures will be available at the delegation offices of Benito Juárez, Puerto Morelos, Cozumel, Solidaridad (Playa del Carmen), Isla Mujeres, Tulum and Felipe Carrillo Puerto, as well as the sub-delegations of Lázaro Cárdenas and José María Morelos. Concessions in Chetumal, Bacalar and Mahahual will continue to be handled at the capital's central offices.
Why it matters: until now, a concessionaire from the north of the state had to travel hundreds of kilometers to Chetumal for a procedure that could be resolved in hours, meaning transport and lodging costs and lost workdays. Decentralizing service shortens those times and brings it closer to the state's largest concentration of transport units, located precisely in the northern zone.
What to do to complete your procedure:
- Go to the IMOVEQROO delegation in the municipality where your concession operates.
- File your request meeting the requirements set for each procedure; the institute asks that it be done at the delegation matching the place of operation.
- If your concession belongs to Chetumal, Bacalar or Mahahual, the procedure remains at the central offices.
The measure is part of the state's mobility modernization process. For specific requirements and hours, those interested can check directly at their municipality's delegation.
