Cancún opens driver's license office at its one-stop service center
The new office on Nader Avenue handles first-time licenses, renewals, replacements, licenses for foreign residents and permits for minors.
The Benito Juárez city government has opened a new driver's license office inside its Ventanilla Única de Trámites y Servicios (one-stop service center), the city said on Oct. 17, 2026.
Bárbara Jackeline Iturralde Ortiz, director of the service center, said the license can be processed there in several modalities, adding another option for residents to get the document in Cancún.
Where and when
- Address: Nader Avenue, Andador 3, units 1 and 2, next to the Edificio Madrid, downtown Cancún.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Phone: (998) 881 28 00, extensions 9700, 9701, 9703, 9704 and 9705.
What you can do there
According to the city, the office handles:
- First-time licenses.
- Renewals.
- Replacements for lost or damaged licenses.
- Licenses for foreign residents.
- Permits for minors aged 15 to 17.
Discounts
- 25% for people with disabilities who present a permanent disability certificate.
- 50% for seniors with a valid INAPAM card.
The same center also issues the disability certificate and the disabled parking permit free of charge, so anyone who doesn't yet have the certificate can get it on site before requesting the discount.
Before you go
The city's announcement did not list requirements or fees for each type of license. To avoid wasted trips:
- Call ahead at the listed extensions and ask which documents you need for your case (first-time, renewal, replacement, foreign resident or minor).
- If you're asking for a discount, bring your valid INAPAM card or disability certificate.
- Go early: the office closes at 4 p.m. and is closed on weekends.
- If you're a foreign resident, confirm by phone which immigration document you'll need.
The one-stop center handles several municipal procedures in one place, so you can take care of other paperwork during the same visit.
