AUTOTUR adds five new buses in Cancún and launches a Shuttle service

With the new Irizar i8 coaches, Mobility ADO's tourist transport fleet in the city reaches 12 buses with 54 seats each.

New AUTOTUR buses unveiled at Cancún's ADO terminal

Mobility ADO unveiled five new buses for its AUTOTUR tourist transport service on October 21, 2026 at Cancún's ADO bus terminal, and launched a new AUTOTUR Shuttle option, the Benito Juárez city government reported.

The additions bring the company's AUTOTUR fleet in Cancún to 12 units. According to the city, the vehicles are Irizar i8 coaches seating 54 passengers each, equipped with air conditioning, reclining seats, USB ports, restroom, GPS and traveler's insurance.

Mayor Ana Paty Peralta attended along with Gerardo Jerez Obando, general manager of Mobility ADO Caribbean Region; Víctor Vicente Cortés Melo, general manager of Tourism and Staff Transport; and Carlos Toledo Ramírez, Mobility ADO southern division director.

"Every AUTOTUR trip represents an important experience for riders," Jerez Obando said, according to the city's release. Peralta said the buses "carry much more than passengers: they carry dreams, stories and moments."

What it means for Cancún

AUTOTUR is ADO's charter service for groups and tourist transfers, so its growth mainly affects agencies, hotels, companies and groups hiring transport for tours, events or transfers. The city framed the expansion as part of modernizing the destination's tourist transport. The official release did not give fares, routes or schedules for the new Shuttle service.

  • Book with established companies and get the quote and terms in writing.
  • Ask about traveler's insurance and what it covers; it comes included on these units, according to official information.
  • Confirm pickup point and time in advance, especially in high season, when traffic in the Hotel Zone and on Colosio Boulevard often gets heavy.
