Benito Juarez Mayor Ana Paty Peralta began a neighborhood accountability tour of Cancun on October 1 with a first meeting at the Lak'in Dome in Villas Otoch Paraiso (Supermanzana 259), where she presented residents with works and services carried out in the area and heard their feedback, the municipal government said.

What was reported for the area

According to the city, the actions include:

Mobility

  • MOBI Route 27: the city says it cuts about 50 minutes per trip, roughly two hours a day round trip, and saves riders about 100 pesos a day.
  • Safe crossings on Lak'in Avenue at Miguel Hidalgo, Bugambilias, Leona Vicario and Orquideas.
  • New traffic lights at Lak'in and Ninos Heroes.
  • Paving in Tierra Maya.

Public spaces and sports

  • Renovation of Parque de la Paz and Parque de Madera.
  • Rehabilitation of the Lak'in dome, gym, and courts in Palma Azul and Prado Norte.

Housing and social services

  • Bienestar housing in Arcos Paraiso, Aloja and Cielo Nuevo.
  • DIF-Pilares in Prado Norte and the Javier Olvera Community Center.

The mayor said the city will keep working so that well-being reaches every family, home and neighborhood.

Why it matters to you

Accountability meetings let residents check on their own street what is being reported and raise pending issues directly with officials. If you live in the area:

  • If you ride public transit, see whether MOBI Route 27 works for your daily commute.
  • If you spot problems with newly built crossings, traffic lights, parks or paving, report them through the city's official channels with the exact location and, ideally, a photo.
  • To learn the tour's next stop, follow official city announcements; a full schedule has not been published yet.
