70 transit operators trained in licensing and violence prevention
In Playa del Carmen, IMOVEQROO reinforced driver training for safer, gender-aware service.
The Quintana Roo Mobility Institute (IMOVEQROO) trained 70 public transport operators and staff from its Playa del Carmen office this Tuesday, July 9, according to the state government.
The training covered two topics: the procedures and regulations for issuing driver's licenses and permits, and the prevention of and response to violence against women in public transport. According to the statement, the goal is for drivers to provide more efficient, safe and gender-aware service.
The session included modules on registration, welcome, the document issuance process and a closing discussion. For riders in Cancún and the Riviera Maya, this kind of training aims to translate into safer, more respectful treatment aboard public transport, one of the most used services in the area.
