Cancun cleaning brigades reach Supermanzanas 43, 73, 200 and 259

Crews mowed, swept, pruned, cleared drains and patched streets, and shut down illegal dumps; residents can request the same service by WhatsApp.

Municipal crew sweeps and collects branches during a cleaning brigade in Cancun

The Benito Juárez city government deployed integrated cleaning brigades in four Cancun neighborhoods: Supermanzanas 43, 73, 200 and 259. The crews mowed, swept, pruned trees, cleared streetlight canopies, collected green waste, cleared absorption wells, shut down illegal dumps and patched streets, according to the city's bulletin.

The General Public Services Directorate, together with SIRESOL Cancún, deployed 27 workers in Supermanzana 43 supported by two 3.5-ton trucks and one collection truck; six people with a backhoe, dump trucks and a pickup in the operation to shut down illegal dumps; and 24 workers with a Bobcat for street patching.

"When citizens and the government work hand in hand, we build a cleaner, safer and more dignified city for everyone," said Landy Guadalupe Canché Pantoja, acting head of the mayor's office.

What the neighborhood gets from these brigades

Each site receives services that are normally handled separately (collection, pruning, lighting, patching). Bundling them cuts down the amount of green waste that comes back to the street, improves storm drainage during the rainy season and reduces mosquito breeding grounds in wells and vacant lots — especially relevant now that Civil Protection has already forecast rain accumulations of up to 50 mm in Cancun.

How to request a brigade in your neighborhood

To request a brigade, report an illegal dump or ask for bulk waste pick-up, the city offers:

  • SIRESOL Green Units: 998 353 2990 (WhatsApp).
  • Chatcun: 998 778 4500 (city WhatsApp).
  • 072: direct citizen service line.

Sending a photo, precise location and a short description speeds up the response. Reports that include neighborhood, block, street and a landmark tend to be handled faster.
